Here is where you find out about SonicPOD: The Sonic PODcast Feed (sponsored by TSW).
Why did I start SonicPOD? Well, it all began as my quest to bring unique things to the Sonic community. The first thing was getting a whole lot of media all in one place. That has been pretty much accomplished, at least as accomplished as it's going to get for quite a while. The next step is PODcasting. Podcasting is a method of audio broadcasts via the internet. Basically, you download MP3 files of people talking about different things. I hope to acquire over time podcasts from different people around the Sonic community, ranting and chatting about the goings on of the Sonic franchise at large. I think this could be a great idea. So, are you anti-Shadow game? Want to rant about it! Record yourself talking about it and then send it to me, and I'll put it up. Or maybe you're pro-Shadow game? Sick of the bashers, want to put your opinion out there? Record it, send it to me. Just a few things to keep note of:
1. Make sure you have a decent microphone so you're getting good sound quality.
2. Your podcast should have some coherence, though it doesn't have to be an intellectual debate. Whether you want to just introduce yourself to the Sonic community, or make an argument concerning the Sonic franchise, either is fine. What I don't want is you just babbling random stupidness into your mic.
3. Size limit: none. But try not to make it too large.
4. No cursing or anything inappropriate in the Podcast.
5. Say what your name and/or online name is, as well as the Sonic site/forum (preferably forum) you hang out at most. NOTE: You know the "KM's Download of the Week" thing, on the main page? Well, I figured people are a bit tired of waiting hours to download the sweetest new music videos. So each week, the "Download of the Week" will be available for download via the Podcast! Yes, this is a ploy to get you to use the Podcast. So how do you get connected to SonicPOD? Here's how:
Aggregators To connect to a podcast, you need what is called an aggregator. Aggregators come built into many web browsers, e-mail clients, etc, these days. In fact, Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7 have great ones built in. Just type in the URL above or click this link and the podcast feed should come right up. A quality alternative iTunes. Most of you use it for your iPods these days anyway, and has it has a built in aggregator and expansive podcast directory. TSW's podcast feed is in that directory as well, just search for "SonicPOD." This way, the audio files and Sonic on your iPod videos will go straight to your iPod.
Good luck getting everything to work. By the time you're reading this, there should be a section under the Submit Your Material page for Podcasts. Dust off the old Mic and get recording. (please)
